Tampa, Florida 2020-11-20 09:36:03 –

Senator Rick Scott tested positive for COVID-19, he announced Friday morning.

Senator Scott reportedly returned to Florida last Friday, contacted someone, then tested positive, and has been quarantining at his home in Naples ever since.

He underwent multiple rapid negative tests earlier this week, but the PCR test he received on Tuesday returned positive this morning, his office said.

“After some negative tests, I found it positive this morning,” Scott said. “I feel good and experience very mild symptoms. I work from my home in Naples until it’s safe to return to Washington, DC. Be careful to protect yourself and others. I want to remind everyone to do the right thing. Wear a mask. Social distance. Quarantine if you come in contact with a positive person like me. As you approach Thanksgiving, this year’s vacation You can see that it is different. But listen to the public health authorities and follow their guidance. This is the same, but we all have to take responsibility. We take care of our patients 24 hours a day. I would like to thank all the wonderful medical professionals who are doing it. I hope COVID-19 will be a thing of the past by the next Thanksgiving. “
