Wichita, Kansas (KSNW) – Several Wichita organizations have distributed Thanksgiving meals to people in need early Saturday morning.

Volunteers in the organization caught a cold during this holiday season to prevent hundreds of families from returning home empty-handed.

“We want to do everything we can to provide physical bread and mental nutrition to everyone in the area, not just those on the streets during this time,” said Lee. David Krauser, chief pastor of the Manuel Baptist Church, said.

Mr. Clauser said he would like to give more than 200 hot meals to people who are homeless.

“I want everyone to have a Thanksgiving meal, but I also want to know that here at the Immanuel Baptist Church there is a group of people who care for them and love them,” Krauser said. Said.

Meanwhile, at Central Community Church, the organizers held a drive-through food distribution event from 6am to 12pm.

“It’s a really way for us to thank and help the community,” said Justin Mall, executive director of Central Community Church. “During this time, make sure that the church loves them and that they know that God loves them.”

Volunteers distributed more than 2,000 bags of food, including turkey, bread, canned corn, potatoes, and green beans.

“We will do everything we can to make you feel cherished and loved during this holiday season,” Mohr said.

Both churches said they wanted to make sure that the food ration event was a safe and socially distant event for everyone.
