Great Bend, Kansas (KSNW) – A violent storm that struck central Kansas late Wednesday afternoon and evening hit Rush and Barton counties.
A storm began to occur in Rush County around 4 pm. Hail up to the size of a golf ball fell on lacrosse.
At around 5:15 pm, Albert in Barton County received hail up to the size of a tennis ball. Mandy Charles, a viewer of KSN, sent the following video of hail.

Further east of Erinwood, strong winds estimated at 70-80 mph knocked down trees and cut off several power lines around the town. A 1-inch size hail was also reported in the storm.
Chance Bailey, police chief of Erinwood, reports that there are many trees around the town. He says the tornado siren rang to warn the inhabitants that a powerful storm was approaching.
Bailey says power is being supplied around the town. But he says it’s not in some homes with tree damage.
