Tampa, Florida — It won’t be a dark and stormy night, but for a very enjoyable Halloween weekend, you’ll have to go through a miserable and rainy Thursday.

ABC Action News meteorologist Shay Ryan said a strong cold front would move to the area on Thursday, causing gusts and rain throughout the day. The storm should begin before sunrise along the coast and north of the area, then pass through the rest to sunset.

The storm that occurs on Thursday can be terrible. The Storm Forecast Center has a Tampa Bay area at the level of 2 out of 5 due to serious weather risks.

Bad weather threat 10/28/21

According to ABC Action News meteorologist Shay Ryan, the greatest threat from heavy thunderstorms can hurt the wind, but isolated tornadoes / waterspouts cannot be ruled out.

Along with wind, heavy rains can cause street floods in poor drainage areas as storms pass. It is at this time that rain is expected to move through the area.

Thursday rain forecast

WFTS

As the front passes, a strong northwestern stream moves to the area on Friday. It will bring showers from the Gulf of Mexico to the area on Friday. But for the next few days, the clouds will have a silver lining.

Both temperature and humidity are expected to drop after the front has passed. By the time all trick or treaters go out on Saturday or Sunday, evening temperatures will be in the late 60’s and late 70’s.

A similar pattern should be set early next week with clear skies, high temperatures in the late 80’s, and low temperatures in the late 1960s.
