Haralson County, Georgia (CBS46)-A Haralson County lawmaker said he had arrested a man he wanted in connection with running a vehicle chop shop.
Congressman posted the arrest of Shannon Dewain Cook on a Facebook page. He was arrested Wednesday night after a long one-month search across two states in Pork County.
A 45-year-old Cook was sought to run a car chop shop and on several other charges, according to a Haralson County spokesman. When he was wanted, lawmakers said he was an armed and convicted serious offender that should be considered dangerous.
Manhunt was underway in both Georgia and Alabama, officials said.
“This arrest makes us a serious criminal on the streets of Haralson County,” said Sheriff Williams. “People who continue to commit crimes and try to avoid the consequences must be tried, and that is what this office will continue to do.”
