Siegfried & Roy illusionist Siegfried Fishbacher dies at the age of 81

Siegfried Fishbacher, a surviving member of Siegfried & Roy’s magical duo Siegfried & Roy, who used rare animals to entertain millions of people in fantasy, died in Las Vegas. A spokeswoman told The Associated Press. He was 81 years old.

He later told the German weekly Bild am Sonntag that his best friend would always be with him.

For years, Siegfried & Roy has been a Las Vegas institution, and the magic and artistry of Fishbacher and Horn has always captivated a sold-out crowd. The pair performed a show six times a week for 44 weeks a year.
