Sapulpa, Oklahoma — Heavy rains on Monday morning caused serious headaches for people in the Sapulpa and Okmulgee regions. The parking lot of the Sapulpa apartment was completely flooded Monday between 5am and 7am.
Several cars were flooded due to the rapid rise in water in the area. Pinehurst Apartment reported in 2 News that the storm drain may have been clogged with dirt or sand due to ongoing construction work near the front parking lot.
Some residents on the first floor of the complex have moved some of their belongings to the second floor in case of flooding. So far, no apartment has been damaged.
After that, the water is drained and the cleaning of the parking lot where mud and mud remains begins. Stephen Ware, a resident of the apartment, says two of his cars were completely flooded.
“When I got dressed and looked at the balcony, my little white Honda was completely underwater and my little red truck was completely underwater. It just took me to the loop.” Ware said.
Surprisingly, both of his cars started after the floods, but there is still a lot of residue inside the cars.
Like the parking lot, there is still rubble and mud left in the parking lot.
