Some evacuation orders lifted in Tulare County as KNP Complex Fire containment grows – Fresno, California

Tulare County, CA (KFSN)-Saturday morning, evacuation orders from some areas of Tulare County were lifted. This is due to increased management of KNP complex fires.

Wildfires burned approximately 86,000 acres across Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks.

Firefighters currently have 20% containment on fire.

This is a 9% jump from the beginning of the day.

Fire officials say they have slowed most of the flame’s advance and are now strengthening their containment lines.

The Tulare County Sheriff’s Office has announced residences along Hammond, Crest, Sierra King along Mineral King Road, and Sierra Drive (Highway 198) from Mineral King Road to the entrance to Sequoia National Park (including Sycamore Drive). Some other evacuation orders and warnings remain valid in Turea and Fresno counties.

The fire has destroyed more than 12 homes since it broke out about a month ago.
