Wichita, Kansas (KSNW) – The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office said a 42-year-old man was put in jail on Wednesday on suspicion of one attempted murder.
Sheriff Jeff Easter said Wednesday morning that lawmakers responded to a house in block 15300 of WUS54. They had to force themselves inside after arriving at the house and seeing someone on the floor. They found a 67-year-old woman identified as Denyce Briet dead. She suffered a blunt trauma to her body.
According to the sheriff’s office, Briett’s son, Kyle Romy, was detained near Taft and McLean at around 1:30 pm and put in jail.
The sheriff’s office said the case was under investigation.
