Sony Michelle’s running back, Shakir Mason’s guard, defensive end Derek Rivers are all Heading Reserve / COVID-19 on the list.

This list is for people who are positive on the test or who are in close contact with someone who is infected with the virus. The NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero noted that the NFL has added a new “high-risk” close contact category this week. Everyone in the group should be quarantined for 5 days.

“In my understanding, not all of these movements are the result of new positive COVID-19 cases.” Pericero wrote..

Athletic Jeff Howe then reported that Michelle was positive and Mason and Rivers were not. Michelle is already on the quadriceps injured list. Mason (calf) was restricted in practice on Friday. Rivers was not mentioned in the report of the injury on Friday.

Center James Ferenc was added to the Reserve / COVID-19 list on Friday, resulting in the Patriots canceling the practice. They returned to practice on Saturday.

Michelle, Mason and Rivers will join Defensive Lineman Byron Kawart and Ferenc as players currently on the Reserve / COVID-19 list. The practice team’s defensive lineman, Bill Murray, was on the list and returned to practice on Thursday. Quarterback Cam Newton and cornerback Stephon Gilmore will also return to practice on Thursday and will appear on the track to play in the event of a match against Denver Broncos on Sunday.

Games that have already been rescheduled are currently set at 1:00 pm at Gillette Stadium.

As an alternative to COVID-19, New England has promoted attack lineman Caleb Benenock from the practice team and wide receiver Isaia’s Bar, and defensive linemen Nick Thurman and Rashodbury.
