How Many 2021 Bracelets Were Won In The WSOP?

The 2021 World Series of Poker dominated the global poker landscape from September 30 until November 23 of last year. It comprised 88 live events and 33 WSOP bracelet events from start to finish with some professional poker players collecting their first piece of poker hardware and others adding to their existing collection. In 2021, however, a staggering six professional poker players ended up winning more than one WSOP bracelet throughout the duration of the tournament in a feat that hasn’t happened since 2003. To find out more about last year’s WSOP bracelet winners, continue reading.

A record-breaking year for Phil Hellmuth

2021 was a good year for Phil Hellmuth. The Wisconsin native, who has been a mainstay on the professional poker scene since his Main Event win in 1989, proved he was still one of the world’s greatest poker players by earning his record-breaking 16th WSOP bracelet and continuing to lead the way with six more than Phil Ivey who currently stands in second place. In true Hellmuth fashion, however, it came after four unsuccessful final table attempts and a great deal of frustration to boot in a performance that is the accumulation of 157 career cashes to date. It was achieved during a match that attracted 272 runners and a prize pool of $363,120 with Hellmuth eventually taking home $84,851 as the worthy winner.

A double bracelet win for Anthony Zinno

At the 2021 WSOP, Anthony Zinno, who has proven to be a highly-skilled professional poker player during both live and online tournaments, such as on GGPoker UK, won his third WSOP bracelet during the $10,000 Seven Card Stud Championship for $182,872 before going on to win his fourth during the $1,500 H.O.R.S.E for $160,636. It brings his total career cashes to 111 and his total career earnings to an impressive  $4,232,711. If that wasn’t enough, his WSOP bracelet wins also occurred just a number of days apart meaning the professional poker player from Rhode Island managed to double his total WSOP bracelet wins during a single tournament.

 Kevin Gerhart

If winning four WSOP bracelets is a sign of a good professional poker player, winning four WSOP bracelets in the space of three years must be the sign of a great professional poker player and Kevin Gerhart knows this all too well having achieved the feat during last year’s WSOP. It was during the 2018 leg of the tournament where he picked up the first WSOP bracelet of his professional poker playing career before collecting another during the 2020 WSOP Online. He managed to follow in the footsteps of Zinno, however, at this year’s tournament by taking his tally from two to four in a matter of days when he won the $10,000 H.O.R.S.E Championship and the $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better for a combined cash prize of over $500,000 in total.

During the 2021 WSOP, over 88 live events and 33 WSOP bracelet events took place over the course of an action-packed two-month period. It saw a number of both amateur and professional poker players earn their first WSOP bracelet or add to their existing hardware collection. It was Phil Hellmuth, Anthony Zinno, and Kevin Gerhart that were amongst the tournament’s top winners, however, by winning more than one throughout the duration of last year’s WSOP as it enjoyed its final year at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in the unofficial home of poker in Las Vegas, Nevada.
