The Columbia Performing Arts Theater at Southeastern Louisiana University announced the 2021-22 season, offering everything from live music to dance and theater. Dates and additional information are available at the following URL: columbiatheatre.org..
The season is August 14th, Hammond’s 220 E. Thomas S. It begins with the screening of the first “Jaws” in the Columbia Pictures series at the Theater. Scheduled at 7:30 pm, as a celebration of Shark Week, the film shows Steven Spielberg’s legendary features on a big screen. Film historian Jason Landrum introduces the film and shares some fun facts about making film classics. Tickets are $ 20 and include popcorn and shark week swag bags.
Next is the screening of “Feliz Suddenly One Morning” on August 28th at 7:30 pm. Randrum introduces the film and shares some fun facts about making John Hughes’ film, with a focus on what senior high school enthusiasts are crazy about. Tickets are $ 20 and include popcorn and 80’s swag bags.
Just in time for Halloween, Colombia’s first original work is scheduled for October 15-16 and October 22-23 at 7:30 pm. Directed by theatrical artistic director Jim Winter, “The House of Hell” is tailored to the setting of Vincent Price’s film. The eerie classic is full of Halloween thrills and cold, Winter said. A special screening of the “Rocky Horror Picture Show” is scheduled for October 29th to 30th at 9pm. The ticket is $ 20. VIP tickets are $ 25.
