Flight tracking website FlightAware.com Shows that Southwest Airlines has canceled 27% of its flights as of Sunday morning, while facing dozens more delays.
According to FlightAware, more than 800 Southwest Airlines flights were canceled on Saturday and more than 1,100 flights were delayed.
The Dallas-based airline said the problem was due to air traffic control issues and weather.

“The ATC problem and stormy weather have caused a large number of cancellations throughout the weekend and we are working to restore operations,” Southwest Airlines said in a tweet.
“We are dealing with affected customers and customer service waits are longer than usual, so please wait for a while,” continued the tweet.

Meanwhile, the Transportation Security Administration announced on Friday that it had screened more than 2.1 million people at the airport’s security checkpoint. This is an amount that has not been seen since early August.
