SpaceX Mission: How to Watch Inspiration 4 Launch

Haley Arseno, The 29-year-old is a medical assistant at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis. Almost 20 years ago, Arceneaux, who grew up in a small town in St. Francisville, Louisiana, was a patient with St. Jude when he was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in his left leg, just above his knee. Arseno underwent chemotherapy and surgery to attach the bones of her prosthesis.

Arceneaux could be the youngest American to get going. She also goes to space as the first person to have a prosthesis. She will be a mission health officer.

Cyan Proctor, 51 is a professor at a community college in Tempe, Arizona.

Dr. Proctor, who holds a PhD in science education, was one of the 47 finalists NASA selected for the astronaut class in 2009. The space agency chose nine new astronauts that year, but Dr. Proctor was not one of them.

She is a pilot of the Inspiration 4 mission and will be the first black woman to pilot a spacecraft.

Christopher Sembroski, A 42-year-old from Everett, Washington, is engaged in data engineering for Lockheed Martin. During college, Sembrosky worked as a counselor at a space camp. He will be an Inspiration 4 mission specialist.

The four crew members of Inspiration 4 are inside a crew dragon capsule created by SpaceX. The capsule is launched on one of the SpaceX Falcon 9 rockets.

This is exactly the same system used to take NASA astronauts to the International Space Station. In fact, the capsule they are riding on, named Resilience, was used in a NASA mission launched last November. Returned to Earth in May and refurbished for the Inspiration 4 mission.
