Spartanburg, South Carolina (WSPA) — The Spartanburg Human Society is looking for a pig owner found near Duncan Park on Friday morning.

“I got a call from the dispatch this morning when I was actually on my way to work,” said Jessica Adams, head of animal services. “Some of our police officers were on Union Street in the Duncan Park area with loose pigs.”

On-site officers invited pigs with breakfast biscuit cookies.

“He had eaten them up,” Adams said. “He made us walk to him. It was a bit of a challenge to get him on the truck because pigs don’t like being picked up.”

Pigs weigh about 30 pounds, about the size of medium-sized dogs. Adams says it moves a lot on the way from the ground to the car.

“We want to find an owner,” said Angel Cox, CEO of the Spartanberg Human Society. “It applies to cats, dogs, pigs, guinea pigs, everything we find. I want to reunite with my owner first.”

Owners have a five-day grace period to request pigs. After that, humanitarian societies look for new homes.
