Spartanburg, South Carolina (WSPA) – According to the Spartanberg Solicitors office, a man in Spartanburg was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2018 for a fatal puncture wound.
Jarvis D. Lucas, 39, was convicted of murder and possession of weapons during a violent crime after a three-day jury trial.
According to a law firm, Lucas stabbed and killed Willie Earl Goggins Jr., 54, in Spartanberg on August 18, 2018.
Police in Spartanberg found the bodies of Gogin with multiple puncture wounds in a field near the intersection of Bomar Avenue and Home Street. Goggins died of blood, the law firm said.
Witnesses of the puncture wound nominated Lucas as a suspect, adding that Lucas had fled to Crescent Avenue’s home, according to a law firm. Police arrested Lucas at his home on Crescent Avenue a few minutes later. Murder weapons were also found in the dwellings.
Lucas is not eligible for release or parole.
