In the last 10 days, 75 COVID-19 cases have been reported in Allegheny County Jail, an increase that accounts for more than 25% of the total number of prison positives reported since March 2020.

Cases of COVID-19 continue to grow amid growing concerns from imprisoned people, prison employees, and communities. Defenders continue to question the handling of the virus by prison administrations that spread throughout the facility.
