For home care providers struggling to secure payments and complete the billing documents needed to provide the large amount of cash flow needed, getting a doctor’s signature continues to curb them.
The patient-driven grouping model (PDGM) required billing to be documented in a 30-day window instead of 60 days, reducing the time required for reimbursement. This problem was exacerbated by the abolition of RAP payments in 2021, and timely doctor signatures are even more important as home care providers strive to file final claims as soon as possible.
