St. Louis, Missouri 2021-09-22 07:45:00 –

NS. Louis County (KMOV.com) – Dr. Sam Page, Executive of St. Louis County, will hold a press conference Wednesday morning to announce the COVID-19 Vaccine Incentive Program.

In June, the county approved $ 875,000 in federal funding from the US Rescue Planning Act to provide incentives for people to be vaccinated. Residents who complete the vaccination process after Saturday will receive a $ 100 grocery store gift card and a $ 50 gas station gift card, according to Page’s office.

News 4 has been checking with the county for months looking for updates to the incentive program. In a final check, county officials said the incentives were still in the bidding process. According to people familiar with the matter, it’s not as easy as going to a store and buying a gift card because we want to give every company the opportunity to participate.

The current 7-day average of COVID-19 vaccination in St. Louis County is just over 1,000, down from 2,000 30 days ago.

News 4 updates this story with additional details following a press conference at 8:30 am on the page. You can watch the press conference live News 4 app, KMOV Facebook page & On KMOV Twitter..
