O’Fallon, Illinois (KMOV.com)-Metro East Hospital staff treated a couple of COVID-19 until a special “dinner date” on Wednesday.

Frank Martinez, 97, and Mansako “Terry” Martinez, 86, are currently in different parts of St. Elizabeth Hospital in O’Fallon, Illinois.

The hospital says their nurses, Hannah Schramer and Kim Preson, decided to act when the family stated that the two were always inseparable and dependent on each other. They welcomed the couple to “Supper Day,” where they could see each other, hold hands and eat together.

Frank served in World War II, South Korea and Vietnam. He and Terry have been married for 63 years.
