KOIN, Oregon — Several kittens were rescued while police were recovering a stolen vehicle in northeastern Portland.

Portland Police Department officials carried out a mission to find stolen vehicles on Northeast Marine Drive and Northeast Airport Way on Thursday afternoon. Upon entering the area, they found 15 stolen vehicles from across the metropolitan area.

According to the PPB, some cars were driveable, while others were barely recognizable.

In one of the stolen vehicles, police officers encountered a furry surprise. Five kittens were found hungry in the truck.

The kitten was handed over to animal care for some care.

“Unfortunately there are no police kitten units or gray and white kittens will be hired!” Said one PPB tweet.
