Tulsa, Oklahoma — Voters will vote for the primary elections in Oklahoma on June 28, including those who are vying to become the next governor of the state.
Incumbent Governor Kevin Stitt will face multiple candidates in the Republican primary. Several Democratic candidates have announced they are running in hopes of replacing Stitt.
The following are running for governor.
Stitt aims to be reelected as the 28th Governor of the State. He has been in that position since 2019.
Stitt grew up in Norman and graduated from Oklahoma State University. He is the founder, former chairman and CEO of the Gateway Mortgage Group.

Kinzel is the current director of the Oklahoma Veterans Affairs Department. He is one of the Republican hopes against Stitt.
He is a veteran after working for the Oklahoma Army National Guard for nine years. He was recently appointed Colonel of the Oklahoma Air Force State Soldier.
Kinzel is from Oilton, Oklahoma and holds a bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University and a bachelor’s degree in law from the University of Oklahoma.

Hoffmeister shocked many when he switched parties and announced that he was running for Democratic Party in the next governor’s election.
She is the current Public Education Inspector and has been in her position since 2015. She has spoken out about Stitt and his actions on a variety of topics, including education and medicine.
