State of Emergency declared in Douglas County in response to Tamarack Fire – Las Vegas, Nevada

Carson City, Nevada (KLAS) — Earlier this week, a Tamarack fire in California crossed the state border into Nevada. Governor Steve Sisolak is now proclaiming a state of emergency in Douglas County in response to a wildfire.

So far, wildfires have burned more than 50,000 acres in two states and destroyed multiple structures. The fire is currently threatening more than 2,700 homes in Douglas County.

“Now we need to unite and use all the resources available to combat this growing threat to help fellow Nevadans get the help they need,” said Governor Sisorak. Told.
