Stray Dog Bites Transit Officer – NBC Boston – Boston, Massachusetts

Boston, Massachusetts 2021-06-12 19:15:01 –

Stray dogs have been quarantined after biting police officers at MBTA station Wednesday morning, officials said Saturday.

Traffic police said police were called to Shomut station at around 5:45 am for reports of stray dogs wandering around the station.

According to police, police saw what looked like a German shepherd mix with unleashed accompaniment.

When police approached to check the dog’s tag and ID, police said, the dog rushed at him and bit his hand. The dog bit the policeman two more times while the policeman repelled it.

According to police, the traffic police repelled the dog and decided not to shoot because people were around. Police closed the station and evacuated passengers.

A transit police K-9 trainer was called to the scene to secure a dog. Boston’s animal care has detained and quarantined dogs, police said. Police officers were treated for injuries at a local hospital.

The case is under investigation.
