Strong to severe storms possible Wednesday night into Thursday morning – Nashville-Davidson, Tennessee

Nashville, Tennessee (WTVF) — Another spring storm system passes through central Tennessee and southern Kentucky all night to facilitate storm 5 alerts.

Strong to severe storms are expected, which can cause destructive winds, isolated flash floods, hail, and isolated tornadoes. Storm 5 alerts are valid from 9 pm Wednesday to 7 am Thursday.

The biggest threat lies in western Tennessee, but as storm systems move to the area overnight, it’s important to make sure you have a way to respond to the weather and receive weather alerts while you sleep.

Winds are expected to increase on Wednesday afternoon, and the windy conditions will continue overnight. Some heavy rains can occur, which can lead to isolated flash floods. Hail is also a concern.

The threat is low, but the isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.
