Sullivan, Missouri (KMOV.com) – According to Sullivan police, a one-year-old child was taken to a hospital after taking an illegal drug.
Police said News 4 health care workers were called to a 600-block home on East Vine Street on February 18. The boy was unresponsive and medical personnel rushed him to the hospital. Officials said tests found illegal drugs in the boy’s system, but it wasn’t revealed which one.
According to police, the boy’s parents were at home at the time of the incident, and the boy’s father was arrested for probation violations. Parents are reportedly known as drug users, and fathers have reportedly overdose many times.
In 2016, the father’s other toddler’s son was rushed to the hospital after it was discovered that stimulants were included in the system, officials said.A week after the incident, a man reportedly died from an overdose in the same house.
