Sumner County, Tennessee (WKRN) — The Sumner County School has announced that it will purchase all school supplies for students from kindergarten to grade 8 from 2021 to 2022.
In addition, the district has reduced the required high school costs from $ 50 to $ 25 to reduce the financial burden on families.
The school district also said that breakfast and lunch would be free for all students as the USDA extended its free lunch program throughout the school year.
“During very uncertain times, with sound financial management and financial responsibility of our school board and county leadership, our school district meets school needs and funds important student-centric efforts. However, Principal Del R. Phillips III said in a post on social media: “As we are preparing to return to our regular schedule in August, these initiatives will prepare our students for success. We believe in providing financial relief and support to SCS families. ”
The district will return to school on August 3rd.
