Pittsburgh (KDKA) – Good morning!
Another sunny day is expected, but this time the actual weather outside will be visible at a height of nearly 50 degrees. Morning temperatures will drop just below 30 degrees Celsius, and weak winds will blow from the west-southwest. The winds will intensify this afternoon, entering at 7-12 mph from west-southwest.
The temperature at noon should be in the mid-40s.
Pittsburgh is hitting a height of 51 degrees.
In the evening, the cold front of the backdoor is pushed into the area, and the Arctic frigid air moves behind the front.
This cold air is in place throughout the weekend, changing from what it looked like earlier this week.
The main changes I made to the forecast are during this period. We have maintained Friday’s highs and lows since yesterday, but lowered both Saturday and Sunday’s highs, adjusting the morning lows accordingly. I now have a peak in Pittsburgh of only 38 degrees Celsius on Saturday. This is a change of just over 5 degrees.
We lowered the maximum temperature on Sunday to 37 degrees Celsius. This is a change of more than 10 degrees from yesterday’s forecast.
Yesterday, the NOAA announced that it had record highs and lows in February, significantly higher than normal, and most of those records were records of cold weather. No record highs or lows were hit in western Pennsylvania last month, but that doesn’t mean the month isn’t worth noting.
It was the coldest February of the six years.
I also saw 16.1 inches of snow.
