Corpus Christi, Texas — For the past 25 years, KRIS Communications, United Way of the Coastal Bend, and HEB have sponsored Operation Supply Our Student giveaways. Donation drives help provide school supplies to students in need of coastal bends.
If you are shopping at HEB, there is a tearpad in the register. Customers can donate $ 1, $ 3, or $ 7 to their grocery invoices. You can also donate school supplies until August 17, 2021.
John Prezas, Executive Secretary of School Leadership, said the purpose was to collect supplies and money to provide school supplies to the winding and underprivileged children of the coast.
“And especially back from the pandemic. There were a lot of students who didn’t go to school in the pandemic last year. And one of my parents was worried about clothes and shoes and a lot of things. I was worried. It’s great that our community can come together and provide some supplies to our students, “says Dr. Prezas.
Amanda Cameron, a former principal of Evans Elementary School, is now the director of Title I SCE in the Corps Christie Independent School District, stating that the supply of our school program will be of great help to Evans Elementary School’s families and students.
According to Cameron, elementary schools are always in need of school supplies and other items such as clothes and shoes.
“For years, we’ve always used school supplies because some of our students haven’t brought them, so we were kind enough to get the supplies. So on the first day, the students felt comfortable with what they needed and found that Evans Elementary School met their emotional needs, “Cameron said.
In 2019, supplies were provided to more than 10,000 underprivileged students.
There is also text to give to the campaign. Viewers can send a text message to SOS in 91999 to specify the amount of money they choose.
