Washington (AP) — The Supreme Court said it would not take up a case where the government asked men to determine whether it was sexism to require only men to register at the age of 18. ..
In a statement on Monday, three judges said Congress was considering whether to change the Military Selective Service Act.
They said that was the reason the court did not take up the case.
The question of whether it is unconstitutional to require men to register but not women to register may be considered to have little practical impact.
The last draft was during the Vietnam War, and since then all troops have been volunteers.
