Colorado — Supreme Court on Thursday Breaking New York state law a century ago Demand a “possible cause” from the gun owner to carry the hidden weapon.

In Colorado, the carrying of firearms is regulated by local governments. Colorado Public Security Bureau. Residents over the age of 21 can apply for a permit to carry hidden weapons through the local sheriff’s department if certain requirements are met, such as demonstrating the completion of a pistol safety class.

Colorado’s hidden carrying law is different from that of New York, but the legality of Colorado’s gun control may now be controversial.

Colorado Springs lawyer Christian Samuelson said gun laws that could be considered too broad to limit gun rights could now be questioned.

“This will affect the legislation currently being proposed. I think Colorado’s mass magazine law could be potentially questioned under this decision,” he said.

Colorado considers ammunition stores holding more than 15 rounds of ammunition. It is a large-capacity magazine and is illegal.

Paul Paradis, owner of the Colorado Springs Paradise Sales Gun Shop, said the ruling was a victory for gun owners.

“I think this Supreme Court ruling changed Article 2 of the Constitutional Amendment from second-class rights to first-class rights,” he said. “This means that the state cannot choose how to use its constitutional rights.”

However, Tom Mouser, a spokesman for the Colorado ceasefire and the father of Columbine victim Daniel Mauser, said the ruling was a great disappointment.

“The courts have deprived state and local governments of their right to regulate security, especially in densely populated areas of increasing gun violence,” he said. “There is no evidence that hidden weapon carriers are reducing the increase in gun violence today.”

According to Samuelson, about 12 other states, including New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Hawaii, have similar concealment legislation as New York. He said most of these states had to revisit their own hidden carry law because of the Supreme Court’s case.
