Surfside Collapse: Police bodycam video released of officers responding to Florida condo – Fresno, California

Surfside, Florida-Florida town officials released body camera footage on Tuesday from the first police officer in response to the collapse of a condominium that killed 98 people.

Surfside officers arrived early in the morning of June 24, minutes after the eastern side of Champlain Tower South pancakes.

Each video lasts about 18 minutes.

A cloud of dust swirls as a policeman passes by a large wreckage. Police officers can be seen calling the survivors and escorting the inhabitants from the part of the building that was still standing.

Authorities are still working to identify the cause of the collapse.

Rescue workers spent about a month searching for the ruins.

The debris has been moved to a warehouse near Miami International Airport, where forensic experts continue to investigate.
