Anthony Michael Lucero, 27, faces manslaughter and hit-and-run
KOIN, Oregon — A man accused of stealing from a store in Clackamas County and escaping the crash site that killed another driver was arrested on Tuesday, the agent said.
A member of the Diet was called to the Loss Center on SE8 2nd Avenue on Thursday night. The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office said the theft was reported.
The suspect’s car was found nearby and an agent tried to pull it, but the driver hurried away. Lawmakers said the driver did not stop at SE Bell Avenue and SE Johnson Creek Boulevard and collided with a vehicle at an intersection. After that, the suspect ran away on foot.
The driver of the vehicle in the collision (Milwaukee’s 54-year-old Chris Lee Nickelson) was taken to the hospital and later died, the agent said.
A 22-year-old passenger in the suspect’s car was seriously injured and hospitalized. Authorities said she later checked out herself.
The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office and the United States Marshals Service found and arrested 27-year-old Anthony Michael Lucero on Tuesday.
