Nashville, Tennessee (WSMV) – A camera caught a suspect trying to break into a couple’s house in East Nashville early Tuesday morning.

“He’s just crawling up here and on his belly looking down through the blinds. I think I’ll see if anyone was here.”

That’s how Scott Harris describes this video taken from his home security system. The suspect tries to get as far as possible into Harris’ Riverside Drive home.

“Behind the door, he lowered it in the same way, hugged the garage, the back door, and lowered it,” Harris said.

The suspect even tried to remove the four security cameras around the house.

“This house is lit up like an airport when we are not here. All the flood lights are on, the front porch lights are on … the side porch lights are on. “I will,” says Harris.

Harris says he and his wife weren’t at home when this happened on Tuesday, but he says he’s worried about his neighbors.

“These residents here don’t have to worry about someone crawling around the window or sneaking around. It’s a pretty close knit community and it’s really safe. This is East Nashville. I don’t think I’m putting you at risk, you know people think they’re having a hard time, “Harris said.

Harris says nothing was taken, but his door was damaged and it cost about $ 1000 to repair.

According to Metro Crime Statistics, there were two robbers and one theft within a mile of Riverside Drive last week.
