After an hour-long barricade at Druid Hill Avenue’s 1600 block in Baltimore’s Upton district, he was detained by police around 11:30 am on Wednesday.

Baltimore police spokeswoman Lindsey Eldridge said the individual was detained “without incident.” That is, no injuries or casualties have been reported.

On Wednesday morning, several streets surrounding the standoff scene were blocked for hours with caution tape. According to police, police responded to the scene around 7:30 am.

I was able to see a tactical unit focused on one building down the street from the location of Druid Hill in YMCA.

Bystanders in the area said the streets were blocked for hours and police allowed people to leave the house but not enter the scene.

Kenny Ebron, who grew up in the area, said he dropped his grandson into the camp around 8:30 am and then got stuck to monitor his activities.

Ebron said that when he was growing up, this was a close community with a lively church and a corner store where he buys ice cream. He expects to invest in this area and other parts of the city.

“Open these churches and introduce programs that teach and help children how to respect each other, deal with conflicts, deal with disagreements, become a family in the community. Needs to be taught, “Ebron said.
