Meadow Vista (CBS13) —A suspect broke into a house in Placer County, took a shower, but faced a shotgun-armed homeowner, lawmakers say.
Just before 11:00 pm on June 3, the homeowner reported watching TV in his bedroom when he heard the water flowing, according to the Placer County Sheriff’s Office.
Then they went to see why the water was flowing and noticed a piece of glass near the front door.
Acting immediately, the homeowner’s spouse grabbed a shotgun and went to check the bathroom. Among them, 25-year-old Elk Grove resident Carrola Tiago-Freitas was found taking a shower.
Tiago-Freitas was struck by a gun until a member of the Diet arrived and was immediately arrested.
Lawmakers believe that Tiago Freitas threw a ceramic rabbit found on the lawn through a window to break into the house. For some reason, he then decided to take a shower.
Tiago-Freitas is currently guilty of burglary.
