The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department held a press conference providing two pieces of information. During the meeting, Lieutenant Ray Spencer said investigators believed the robbery had been arranged by Schultz, who had previously visited the house. The victims were clearly targeted because Schultz learned that there were “expensive gems” in the house.

“It’s very likely that Schultz and Overton have fled the state,” Spencer said at the meeting at the time.
