The device was found at a 3000 block bank on SE Belmont Street

KOIN, Oregon — Police said a building in southeastern Portland had been evacuated after a suspicious device was found in a bank on Friday afternoon.

Police officers responded to the bank at 3000 blocks on SE Belmont Street just before 2:30 pm

The building was evacuated and a metropolitan explosives disposal unit was sought help.

SE Belmont is closed from SE 30th Avenue to SE 31st Avenue. SE30th was also closed from SEBelmont Street to SEYamhill Street. Pedestrians and drivers should avoid this area.
