London (AP) — Many websites have become unavailable after the extensive outage of cloud service company Fastly on Tuesday.
I couldn’t access dozens of high-traffic websites such as the New York Times, CNN, Twitch, Reddit, and the UK Government homepage.
San Francisco-based Fastly noticed the issue shortly before 1000 GMT. The company has repeatedly updated its website, saying it “continues to investigate the problem.”
Visitors trying to access CNN.com I received a message similar to the following: “Fast error: Unknown domain: cnn.comWhen I tried to visit the Financial Times website, I got a similar message when I visited the New York Times or the UK Government website. gov.uk The site returned the message “Error 503 service not available” and the line “Varnish cache server”, the technology that Fastly is building.
A downdetector that tracks Internet outages said, “Reports have shown that Fastly has experienced widespread outages that may be affecting services.”
