Syracuse, NY (WKBW) — Syracuse University has announced that all eligible students, faculty, and staff are required to receive COVID-19 booster shots before the start of the spring semester or as soon as they are eligible.
The university stated that this policy applies to those who routinely access Syracuse University campus locations or facilities, including Washington, DC, New York City, Los Angeles, and all study abroad locations.
According to Syracuse, the qualified people are:
- I was vaccinated twice with Pfizer or Moderna at least 6 months ago.
- I was vaccinated with Janssen / Johnson & Johnson at least two months ago.
“Individuals who have been vaccinated previously approved by other World Health Organizations should receive a Pfizer booster dose if they received the first vaccine series at least 6 months ago. CDC Guidance“The school said in a statement.
The university requires all students (undergraduates, graduates, law), regardless of vaccination status, to take an on-campus return test before the spring semester. All students accessing the campus must be vaccinated against the flu vaccine before the start of the spring semester.
Syracuse is not the only university that needs booster shots. On Monday, Notre Dame announced that they would also need booster shots for their students.
