The family-owned boutique opened its grand opening last weekend, making it the only clothing store in the city.
Raquel Ruvo, owner of Daihatsu Taft from Taft, said having his own business has long been a personal desire. Lubo also wanted his city to be more self-reliant.
“In order to do all sorts of shopping, we always had to travel to Corpus, Portland and Calallen,” said Rubo, referring to the construction of Corpus Christi. “Frankly, it’s not always convenient.”
The boutique is 319 Green Ave, right next to the Taft Police Station. It is in. Lubo said in advance that her building was only used for storage. Besides Daisy N Denim, there are many abandoned houses in the area on Green Avenue.
“People ask me why I don’t, and I say why I don’t — the support I received from our community was astounding,” she said. “Our city, our city has a lot of opportunities, there are beautiful buildings around us, many of them are vacant, so I do so, so we have a lot I believe there is an opportunity to grow. “
The boutique offers a wide range of women’s clothing and products. After school, they got the attention of a group of Taft junior high school students.
“I really want it to continue because this is like all of us,” said Desiree Guzman, a student who shopped with her friends. “It’s good to be able to shop here without having to go anywhere.”
Whether it’s a restaurant or a coffee shop, Lubo said he hoped another company would someday join her nearby.
“I wanted to bring something beautiful to my community. That’s what we did,” she said.
