“We are growing and expanding,” said Megan Sturges Stanfield, CEO and President of JAKC.

new Junior Achievement Youth Learning Lab Soon there will be several students who want to get off to a good start and learn about different careers.

“We want our students to learn, have fun, really think about you and know what their future life will be like,” says Sturges Stanfield.

Hallmark, JE Dunn Cinstruction and Community America Credit Union are just a few of the companies participating in the simulated business town.

“I can’t stop thinking about how exciting this is and how changing it will make memorable lies for children,” Sturges Stanfield said. “It was the most difficult year of their life trying to learn from school, home, and perhaps a hybrid in between.”

“I think there’s a lot to learn here,” said eight-year-old Julian Suarez.

Third graders took it all in while touring the new space.

As a manager, he decided to start with a simulated storefront of Price Chopper. He shared the reason.

“One is because they have food,” he said with a smile. “Maybe it’s because I’ve been to Price Chopper before, but I like trying new things.”

Learning about selling, buying and managing gives students hands-on experience with career and entrepreneurial skills that they find interesting.

“Well, I feel like each organization has different lessons to learn as you step inside,” Julian said.

From learning about construction to customer service, Julian said that through Junior Achievement, he can learn not only what he wants to do when he gets older, but also financial lessons.

“I want to spend money and save money for something expensive,” Julian said.

This is a space to see early ideas about what future leaders have.

“JA really helps with a kind of work to get there, rather than doing everything yourself,” Julian said.

The 22,000-square-foot center isn’t open for students yet, but will open in the coming weeks.

The center is intended for students attending school or for students who are part of a youth organization running a Junior Achievement program.

From Saturday, May 1st, the Greater Kansas City Junior Achievement will be held. Sweat4 Success.

It is a virtual racetrack around Kansas City. Participants will track their daily training and physical activity from May 1st to May 15th.

The goal is to complete the 31.5-mile exercise and participate in the promotion of the entire metro to raise $ 50,000 by May 15.For more information on challenges and other upcoming events, see website..
