Cambridge, Massachusetts. (WHDH)-Regular Red Line commuters are trying to bring together a great heart on their daily commute.

Dr. Eugene Chan tells other doctors, researchers and scientists on weekdays on the Red Line on a commute to Brigam and Women’s Hospital as the train passes through Harvard, Central and Kendal / MIT stops. Said to meet. But he realized that none of them shared their experience, so one day he suddenly decided to approach a fellow doctor.

“I talked on the train. I said last year’s supply shortage affected our research,” Cheung recalls.

As a result, the Red Line Journal Club was established. This club allows researchers to interact about science while riding the T.

“It makes this connection of researchers from all different disciplines,” Cheung said. “Science is driven by innovation and creativity, but most importantly, collaboration for cutting-edge discoveries. For example, thanks to Covid, the mRNA vaccine we are currently using would not be possible without collaboration. . “

Commuters interested in joining the club can contact Cheung on Twitter @EJ_Cheung or by emailing echeung5@bwh.harvard.edu.
