At 1:20 am on June 24, Tampa police were dispatched to Seven-Eleven in 4943 EBusch Blvd to report a suspect who trampled an unconscious victim. Police arrived and found the victim of an unresponsive elderly black man on the ground of the parking lot, with serious upper body trauma. Officers immediately began CPR and provided life-saving measures until the Tampa Fire Rescue arrived. The victim was then taken to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead.

The detective worked on reviewing surveillance footage, creating leads, and conducting interviews with witnesses, identifying a 39-year-old black man, Talon Cliner, as a suspect.

At around 7:08 am, police officers found Cliner walking near the road in E. Bushbourgbird in front of Seven-Eleven and appeared to be wearing the same clothes seen in the surveillance video. Apparent blood stains were observed on Klinner’s clothing. After a positive identification, Klinner was arrested and charged with murder. He was transferred to Orient Road Prison.
