ST. Louis (KMOV.com)-A 17-year-old boy was shot in the stomach on Thursday trying to steal a tip jar from a restaurant in southern St. Louis.
A police officer at the St. Louis Police Department said a teenager had stolen a tip jar at Utah station since 4 pm when a customer intervened. Police said a teenager assaulted a customer and then someone shot him in his stomach.
It is still unclear if the archer is tied to a restaurant in Benton Park. News 4 called the restaurant but declined to comment. But they said the restaurant would be closed for the rest of the day.
The boy was taken to the hospital for treatment. The archer was detained. No other information is published.
