NS. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – A teenager is detained after carjacking a man near St. Louis University and chasing a police officer overnight.

A 33-year-old man was in a car outside Papa John’s in 3822 Lacreed when a 17-year-old suspect opened the passenger seat door, pointed his gun at him, and demanded that he leave at around 12:30 am. I told the police that I was sleeping in. Wednesday. After the man followed, the suspect drove a car at the 2016 Hyundai Elantra.

Police in St. Louis later discovered the car, but when the police tried to stop the car, the car ran away, prompting the police to chase. The chase ended when the suspect collided with a tow truck near North Broadway and Biddle. The suspect escaped from the crashed vehicle and was detained after a short foot chase.

According to police, the 17-year-old woman had key fobs in multiple vehicles. He was remanded to the juvenile court.

Two other teenagers were found in the stolen car, but police said they were not involved in the robbery. Officers carried them home.

Two guns were recovered, police said. Investigation is ongoing.
