Portland, Oregon (KOIN) — Several teenagers have been arrested after a purse snatching rash in Vancouver.

Just before 12:30 pm on Wednesday, police responded to a report from a man who grabbed his wallet from a chair outside a coffee shop in a driver on the Southeastern Columbia River before escaping by car. According to the Vancouver Police Department, the suspect’s description was consistent with the suspect’s description of several other recent wallet thefts in the area.

According to the VPD, police officers soon arrived at the scene and began checking nearby areas where purse-strapped suspects could look for other victims. Eventually, they found a vehicle that matched the suspect’s vehicle and stopped.

There were four 14-year-old children in the car — three boys and one girl. Two of the boys were booked for two thefts, riding a car without permission, September 16 incident..

VPD states that charges are being queried by two other teens. Investigation is ongoing.
