Denver — According to Denver police, the rideshare driver was hospitalized early Monday morning after being stabbed several times during a quarrel with a group of teens seeking a ride in Denver.
It happened after midnight on 2100 blocks on Broadway Street in Denver. Police said the victim was driving to pick up the group after requesting a ride from that address.
According to police, when the driver arrived, he informed a group of five teenage men that they couldn’t fit them all in his car. The standard vehicle on the ride-sharing platform can only accommodate up to 3 people in the vehicle due to COVID-19 restrictions.
After the driver advised the group on the restrictions, an oral quarrel arose, which became physical, the agency said. According to police, the driver was taken to the hospital with several puncture wounds and non-life-threatening injuries.
Denver police said no arrests had been made in this case. If you have any information, please call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers (720) 913-7867.
