Fresno, California 2022-07-01 19:16:17 –

Porterville, CA (KFSN)-A temporary library will officially open in Porterville on Friday morning.

The location is between Grocery Outlet and Dollar General on Olive Avenue on Main Street.

Two years after the original library burned down and killed two firefighters.

The new permanent library is expected to be completed in 2024.

Porterville officials say the new state-of-the-art library will offer more services, thanks to the opinions of the community.

The new building will also be a homage to Porterville’s firefighter captain Raymond Figueroa and firefighter Patrick Jones, who died in the fight against fire.
