Nashville, Tennessee (WSMV)-State officials are hoping to help Tennessee people decide on new license plates.
The new Tennessee license plates will be redesigned every eight years under state law, as long as the annual budget of the General Assembly approves the funding.
Voting begins on Monday and continues until 11:59 pm on September 27th. State officials will announce the award-winning design later this fall and open it to the public in January 2022.

The newly selected license plate design replaces the current license plate launched in 2006 with the ones modified in 2011, 2016, and 2017.
According to Tennessee law, the words “Tennessee,” “Volunteer State,” “TNvacation.com,” and the location of the county name and expiration decal must be printed on the plate. In addition, Tennessees can choose the “In God We Trust” plate option.
